RALEIGH, N.C., Oct. 5, 2015 – VMZINC®-US, the international brand name of rolled zinc products, has announced that registration is now open for the seventh edition of the Archizinc Trophy contest. The bi-annual contest, open to architects throughout the world, aims to highlight the use of VMZINC featured in a variety of sites, building typologies and architectural styles. Prizes are awarded in four categories, including: Private Housing, Collective Housing, Public Buildings and Commercial Buildings. Several special prizes will also be awarded, including: Prize for Daring, Tradition Prize, Sustainable Building Prize and the Jury’s Special Prize. A fan favorite project will also be rewarded through voting on the VMZINC® Facebook page.

Winners will be chosen based on architectural quality, project originality, innovation in the use of zinc material, elegance, functionality and respect for the environment. First place winners will receive the Archizinc Trophy, composed completely of zinc, at the awards banquet in June 2016 hosted in Paris, France. Additionally, the winners’ creations will be published in a special issue of FOCUS ON ZINC, called ArchiZinc Trophy, an international architectural journal by VMZINC®, which distributes more than 60,000 copies to building professionals in more than 30 countries.
