A barrel-aged sour beer from the famed California brewery, Tartare Berliner Weisse offers an interpretation of one of the world’s classic sour beer styles that’s characteristically tart and low in alcohol. Paste Magazine has ranked the beer as the No. 1 American Berliner Weisse.

Craft beer lovers can expect Tartare to appear on draft taps at select bars and restaurants across North Carolina this summer, and it pairs well with steamed mussels and other shellfish.

Bear Republic, one of the nation’s top craft breweries, is a sought-after brand. The California drought has forced the company to decrease production and pull out of some markets, such as Massachusetts and Texas. Its brews are currently available in just 10 states, including North Carolina, where Mims Distributing is its exclusive partner.
