Kroger Created Nearly 90 New Jobs In North Carolina In 2014

RALEIGH, N.C., March 13, 2015 – The Kroger Co. (NYSE: KR), the nation’s largest traditional grocery retailer with 14 stores throughout the Triangle and North Carolina, announced that it added 89 new jobs in North Carolina in 2014, bringing its total number of associates in the Tar Heel state up to 1,806.

Nationwide, Kroger’s total active workforce grew by nearly 25,000 during 2014. More than 90 percent of the new jobs are in the company’s supermarket divisions, ranging from full-time department heads and assistant store managers to part-time courtesy clerks and cashiers.

Over the last seven years, Kroger has created more than 65,000 jobs nationwide. This figure does not include increases due to the company’s mergers. Kroger and its subsidiaries today employ nearly 400,000 associates. The company hired more than 6,000 veterans in 2014, and has hired more than 29,000 veterans since 2009.
