WAKE FOREST, N.C., March 24, 2015 – Supremia Dentistry, a Wake Forest, North Carolina-based dental practice led by Dr. Edmond Suh utilizing a state-of-the-art, painless approach to dental care, has announced that the Triangle Business Journal has named Dr. Suh a 2015 Health Care Hero in the dentist category.

This year’s 24 award recipients were chosen from a pool of nominees including doctors, nurses, volunteers and administrators. Honorees were selected for their passion for serving others and innovations in health care. Judges included Jim Datin, CEO of BioAgilytix, David Dickson, president and CEO of TSI Healthcare and Mary Graff, president-elect of the N.C. Nurses Association. The award recipients were honored at an awards dinner on March 12 at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel and Convention Center in Durham.

Since Dr. Suh first opened Supremia Dentistry in 2003, he has combined technologically advanced dental care with a compassionate staff in order to provide the most effective and welcoming service to his patients. North Carolina ranks as one of the worst states in the nation for accessible dental care, so Suh works tirelessly each year to improve this situation and ensure that everyone in his community has the opportunity to receive dental care.

In addition to providing free or discounted treatment to members of the local community, he also serves North Carolina troops based overseas through the Operation Sweet Tooth initiative. This annual event encourages the donation of leftover Halloween candy to not only promote optimal dental health among children, but also to send our servicemen and women a sweet taste of home. In 2014, the seventh annual Operation Sweet Tooth collected a whopping 2,095 pounds of candy, which far surpassed 2013’s record of 1,500 pounds.
