Bookmark and Share Charlotte, NC - February 23, 2011 -

Piedmont Plastic Surgery and Dermatology dermatologist, Tonya McLeod, M.D., recently served as a mentor to high school students at the Pride Entrepreneur Education Program (PEEP) luncheon on February 17, 2011 at the Blake Hotel. PEEP was created to help eliminate future socio-economic disparities in the African American community by promoting education, financial literacy, the attainment of technical skills and entrepreneurship among youth ages 15 to 25.

The PEEP Luncheon put over 200 Charlotte-Mecklenburg high school students face to face with skilled professionals and entrepreneurs for enlightening discussions about education, careers and entrepreneurship. The luncheon sought to motivate, inspire and guide local youth while helping them see the link between doing well in school and future success. Proceeds from the luncheon will help fund PEEP Career Mentoring and Scholarship Programs. PEEP awarded $60,000 in scholarships to 23 local students.

Piedmont Plastic Surgery and Dermatology, the only practice in the Carolinas combining the expertise of plastic surgery and dermatology in one office, was proud to be a sponsor of the PEEP Luncheon.
