New Biodiesel Station in Apex, NC
Crown Express Mart to Celebrate Grand Re-Opening with Renewable Fuels
Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony Marks Beginning of Clean Fuel Future for Apex-Area Drivers
August 8, 2013- (Apex, NC)—Marking its grand re-opening, Crown Express Mart will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, August 15th from 12pm-1pm at their location in Apex. Crown Express Mart is among the first in the Apex area and one of the few in Triangle Area region to offer B20, a blend of cleaner burning and renewable biodiesel that can be used in existing diesel engines without modification.
The event will showcase the many benefits biodiesel has to offer its consumers. Biodiesel, an energy source derived from fats, oils, and greases is a biodegradable fuel. Biodiesel is helping decrease North Carolina’s dependence on foreign oil, lower prices at the pump, create jobs and improve air quality for Apex families.
The event will feature expert speakers and demonstrations regarding the clean fuel. Guests include Lyle Estill, Vice President of Piedmont Biofuels, who will bring a 2014 Chevy Cruz, a clean diesel vehicle for display and discussion; and emcee Anne Tazewell, the Clean Transportation Program Manager at the North Carolina Solar Center.
In celebration, B20 will be sold for $3.20 during the event and attendees can enjoy a free scoop of Breyer’s ice cream to beat the heat.
This event is open to the media.
