Hill, Chesson & Woody (HCW), an independent benefits consulting firm, was recently named as one of the 2016 Best Employers in North Carolina. The list of the Best Employers in North Carolina was created by Business North Carolina, the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) – N.C. State Council and Best Companies Group. This is the fourth consecutive year HCW has won this prestigious award.

This statewide survey and awards program is designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in North Carolina, benefiting the state's economy, workforce and businesses. HCW was named the #5 Best Employer in NC among 25 companies in the small to medium size category. HCW offers various programs and benefits, including summer hours, volunteer time off, chair massages, on-site fitness classes, and weekly fruit and salad bars provided by the firm’s wellness committee. Events held away from the office, such as an afternoon at the movies and an annual lake party, support the company’s values of maintaining a fun and flexible workplace.

Companies from across the state entered the two-part survey process. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company's workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final rankings.
