Hill, Chesson & Woody (HCW), a local benefits and consulting firm, will host a free educational seminar on Thursday, February 11th, at the Proximity Hotel, located at 704 Green Valley Rd. This program, a part of HCW’s Employee Benefits Ready series, will focus on the extension of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) reporting deadlines. The extension offers employers the opportunity to review forms and make any necessary corrections before they are distributed to employees and filed with the IRS.

HCW’s compliance advisors, Katharine Marshall, JD and Lindsey Surratt, JD, will review instructions and examples for completing the required forms 1094-B, 1095-B, 1094-C and 1095-C, including any last minute updates and tips to get ready to file. Attendees will learn the nuances of the forms and the required codes, enabling them to ensure the forms they are responsible for are complete and accurate. This program is designed for human resources directors/managers, CFOs, CEOs and business owners. Some familiarity with the employee benefits field is advised.

This free seminar is accredited by the HR Certification Institute for 2.00 general credit hours toward PHR, SPHR and GPHR recertification and 2.00 Professional Development Credits (PDCs) for the SHRM-CPSM or SHRM-SCPSM. This session is also accredited by the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) for 2.00 hours of CPE credit. Registration and breakfast will begin at 8:30 a.m., with the presentation beginning at 9:00 a.m. It will close with a question and answer session, wrapping up at 11:30 a.m. For more information or to register, visit http://info.hcw-events.com/2016EBRTriad1.

“The recent extension of the ACA reporting deadlines allows employers a unique last-minute chance to correct any mistakes they may have originally overlooked,” said Todd Yates, HCW partner and CEO. “Avoid the headache you may face down the road by making sure you’ve accurately completed your forms before filing with the IRS. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear our compliance advisors dive deep into step-by-step instructions and tips for completing the required forms.”
